Food From Gas Stations-Tasty On A Road Trip

I love getting snacks when we are on a road trip. You pull in to refuel your car and it is time to refuel your tummy too.

Buying chips and root beer is a guilty pleasure. I think it seems even more special because my parents would never let us buy junk food when I was little. Partially to save money and partially to stay healthy, my mom always brought food from home in the car. Road trip drinks consisted of a gallon of water from home with cups. Road trip food was usually cheese & crackers and tuna sandwiches in the cooler. So now that I am an adult making my own decisions...I've gone wild...SODA and CHIPS!! I wonder if this will change when I've got my own munch-kins in the backseat and I'm trying to set a good example.

Since I'm currently sans kiddos, I'm enjoying pigging out on road trips. On this trip I bought a bag of salt-n-vinegar chips and a barqs root beer. Let's just say--TASTY (very)! Not Healthy (the chips were not baked, just the regular old full fat and cholesterol variety)! Not Cheap (gas stations are rip-offs for food)!
